Taizo Horiuchi is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Yamatotakada City in Nara Prefecture. Born in 1967, he graduated from Nara Prefectural Unebi High School before joining the Japan Air Self-Defense Force in 1986, where he served as a fighter pilot until 1992. Following his military service, he worked in the automotive maintenance industry and was active in local PTA leadership. He was first elected mayor in 2019 and secured a second term in 2023, both times running unopposed.
