木村敬

Takashi Kimura is a Japanese politician and former bureaucrat currently serving as the 21st Governor of Kumamoto Prefecture. Born in Tokyo in 1974, he graduated from the University of Tokyo and began his career at the Ministry of Home Affairs. He gained extensive experience in local government, serving in Tottori Prefecture and later as the Vice Governor of Kumamoto under his mentor, Ikuo Kabashima. Kimura was elected governor in 2024 with the support of the Liberal Democratic Party and Komeito. Throughout his career, he has focused on regional revitalization, disaster management, and economic development, particularly regarding the semiconductor industry in Kumamoto. His tenure has occasionally been marked by controversy regarding his public remarks and administrative conduct.
