Takeshi Sato is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Iida in Nagano Prefecture. Born in Iida, he graduated from the University of Tokyo Faculty of Law and began his career in 1991 as an official at the Ministry of Home Affairs. Prior to his election as mayor, he served as the Deputy Mayor of Iida and held a position at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. He was first elected as mayor in 2020 and secured a second term in 2024.
