Tamara Funiciello is a Swiss politician who has served as a member of the National Council since 2019. Born in Bern and raised in Sardinia, Italy, she returned to Switzerland to pursue studies in international relations, history, and social sciences. Before her election to the National Council, she was a prominent labor union activist with Unia and served as President of the Young Socialists of Switzerland from 2016 to 2019. A self-identified Marxist, Funiciello is a vocal advocate for women's rights and workers' rights, having played a leading role in the 2019 Swiss women's strike.
