田村麻美

Mami Tamura is a Japanese politician and labor activist currently serving as a member of the House of Councillors. Born in Itabashi, Tokyo, and raised in Hiroshima, she graduated from Doshisha University before beginning her career at Jusco. She later became a dedicated official for the UA Zensen labor union, which represents workers in the textile, chemical, food, and service industries. First elected to the House of Councillors in 2019, she has since been re-elected and serves as a key policy figure within the Democratic Party for the People, focusing on labor issues and organizational representation.
