Tarek Al-Wazir is a German politician and member of the Bundestag, where he has served as the chair of the Committee on Transport since May 2025. A long-time figure in Hessian politics, he previously served as the Hessian Minister for Economic Affairs, Energy, Transport and Housing and as Deputy Minister-President of Hesse from 2014 to 2024. Throughout his career, Al-Wazir has been a prominent member of Alliance 90/The Greens, having served as a member of the Landtag of Hesse for many years and as a former parliamentary group leader. He holds dual German and Yemeni citizenship and is a graduate in political science from the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt.
