Teruhito Furukawa is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Osakasayama in Osaka Prefecture. Born in 1971, he began his political career as a member of the Osakasayama City Council in 1999, followed by two terms as a member of the Osaka Prefectural Assembly. He was first elected as mayor in 2015 and has since been re-elected, currently serving his third term. Before entering politics, he worked as a cram school instructor and as a secretary to a prefectural assembly member.
