Tetsuo Setaka is a Japanese politician and former professional ice hockey player currently serving as the Mayor of Nikko. Born in Tomakomai, Hokkaido, he had a distinguished athletic career, playing for teams including Kokudo, Anyang Halla, and H.C. Tochigi Nikko Ice Bucks, where he served as team captain. After retiring from sports in 2013, he transitioned into local politics, serving three terms as a member of the Nikko City Council starting in 2014. In April 2025, he was elected Mayor of Nikko, assuming office in May 2025. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in regional sports promotion and charitable work, including support for victims of human trafficking.
