Thierry Witsel

Thierry Witsel is a Belgian politician born on May 28, 1968, in Martinique, France. A member of the Socialist Party, he was first elected as a deputy to the Walloon Parliament and the Parliament of the French Community in the 2019 regional elections. He was subsequently re-elected to his parliamentary mandates in the 2024 regional elections and designated to the Senate of Belgium. He is also known as the father of international footballer Axel Witsel.
