Thomas Townsend

Thomas Townsend is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Iowa Senate, representing District 36. Elected in November 2024, he succeeded long-time state senator Pam Jochum. Before entering politics, Townsend served in the United States Navy for six years and worked as a licensed electrician. He is a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and has served as the president of the Dubuque Federation of Labor, an affiliate of the AFL–CIO.
