Tim Mathern is an American politician serving as a member of the North Dakota Senate. First elected to the Senate in 1986, he has held various leadership roles, including Senate Assistant Majority Leader and Senate Minority Leader. A graduate of North Dakota State University and Harvard University, Mathern has dedicated much of his career to social services, directing family life and child programs for three decades. He has been a prominent figure in North Dakota politics, having run for Governor in 2008 and State Treasurer in 2016, and continues to advocate for public policy through his work in behavioral healthcare.
