Tim Uppal is a Canadian politician who serves as the Member of Parliament for Edmonton Gateway. A member of the Conservative Party, he previously represented Edmonton—Sherwood Park and held cabinet positions as Minister of State for Democratic Reform and Minister of State for Multiculturalism under the Harper government. Uppal is noted for sponsoring the legislation that established the National Holocaust Monument in Ottawa. Before his political career, he worked as a radio host and a residential mortgage manager. He is also recognized as the first turban-wearing Sikh to be appointed to the Canadian Cabinet.
