A member of the Republican Party, he has represented the 37th district of the Indiana House since 2012 and assumed the role of Speaker in 2020. Prior to his legislative career, Huston held various positions in education policy, including serving on the Hamilton Southeastern School Board, the Indiana State Board of Education, and as Chair of the Indiana Charter School Board. He also worked as a senior vice president at the College Board until 2022.
