Todd J. McCarthy is a Canadian politician and lawyer serving as the Ontario Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks since 2025. A member of the Progressive Conservative Party, he was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in 2022 to represent the riding of Durham. Before entering provincial politics, McCarthy had a distinguished 33-year career as a trial lawyer and served as a school board trustee and deputy judge. He is a vocal advocate for the right to trial by jury and supports the use of the notwithstanding clause in constitutional matters. As a cabinet minister, he has overseen significant legislative reforms in consumer protection, infrastructure safety, and cybersecurity.
