Tom Erdimi

Tom Erdimi is a Chadian politician and academic who served as the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation from 2022 to 2026. A member of the Zaghawa ethnic group and nephew of former president Idriss Déby, he previously held key roles in the Chadian oil industry and served as the first president of the University of N'Djaména. Erdimi was a prominent opposition figure and financier of the Union of Forces of Resistance (UFR) during his years in exile. Following his return to Chad in 2022, he joined the government before resigning from his ministerial post in March 2026.
