Tom Fernandez

Tom Fernandez is an American politician serving as a member of the South Carolina Senate for the 39th District since 2024. A graduate of Coastal Carolina University, the Charleston School of Law, and The Citadel, he previously worked as a lawyer and served as a board member for Central Berkeley Fire & EMS. Fernandez is known for his conservative legislative stances, including his opposition to COVID-19 vaccine mandates and his support for strict abortion restrictions. He gained public attention for a 2021 First Amendment lawsuit against the South Carolina Department of Transportation and for his involvement in various political controversies during his tenure.
