Wes Climer

David Wesley Climer is an American politician who has represented the 15th District in the South Carolina Senate since 2016. Before his election to the state legislature, he served as a Congressional aide for several prominent Republican figures, including Senator Elizabeth Dole and Representative Patrick McHenry. Throughout his tenure in the Senate, Climer has chaired the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee and served on various committees, including Finance and Transportation. Known for his conservative stance, he notably challenged state legislative pay raises in 2025 and has launched a bid for the U.S. House of Representatives in South Carolina's 5th Congressional District.
