A member of the Croatian Democratic Union, he previously held several cabinet posts including Minister of Labour and Pension System, Minister of Environmental Protection and Energy, and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development. He later served as Vice Governor of the Croatian National Bank before returning to government office.
