Tomonori Kiyoyama is a Japanese politician and physician currently serving as the Mayor of Miyazaki City. After graduating from the University of Tokyo Faculty of Medicine, he worked as a doctor in Okinawa and the United States before returning to Japan to practice internal medicine. Motivated by a desire to address physician shortages, he entered politics, serving as a member of the Miyazaki Prefectural Assembly from 2011 to 2018. He was first elected Mayor of Miyazaki in 2022 and secured re-election in 2026. His policy focus includes healthcare reform, such as promoting HPV vaccination, and municipal administrative improvements.
