Profile

Motonobu Nakagawa is a Japanese politician currently serving his fifth term as the Mayor of Nara. Born in 1976, he graduated from Ritsumeikan University and worked at Teikoku Oil before engaging in NPO activities focused on regional development and education. First elected in 2009 at the age of 33, he has since focused on administrative reforms, child-rearing support, and digital transformation. His tenure has seen the implementation of policies such as the partnership oath system for same-sex couples and efforts to achieve zero culling of dogs and cats.
