A central committee member of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, she previously served as the Minister of State for Health and Population in 2023. Before entering politics, she worked as a lecturer in surgery at the Patan Academy of Health Sciences and was an elected member of the Nepal Medical Council. Her political career began with a successful legal challenge to the Election Commission regarding her candidacy eligibility.
