Trent Ashby is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Texas House of Representatives, representing District 9. Born in Rusk County, Texas, in 1972, he was raised on a family dairy farm and later graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in agricultural economics. Before his legislative career, he served on the Lufkin Independent School District Board of Trustees. First elected to the Texas House in 2012, Ashby is known as a conservative Republican who has supported legislation restricting abortion access. He continues to reside in Lufkin with his family.
