Tsutomu Fujiwara is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Motosu City in Gifu Prefecture. Born in Yabu, Hyogo Prefecture, he graduated from the Faculty of Education at Gifu University in 1972. Before entering politics, he had a long career in the Gifu Prefectural Government, where he served in various roles including Director of the Assembly Secretariat and Director of the Seino Promotion Bureau. He was first elected Mayor of Motosu in 2008 and has since been re-elected multiple times, most recently securing his fifth term in 2024. During his tenure, he oversaw the planning and construction of the new Motosu City integrated government office building, which opened in 2024.
