Tulsi Gabbard is an American politician and military officer who served as the Director of National Intelligence from 2025 to 2026. Previously, she served as a U.S. Representative for Hawaii's 2nd congressional district from 2013 to 2021 and as a member of the Hawaii House of Representatives. A veteran of the Hawaii Army National Guard, she has held various military roles, including lieutenant colonel. Throughout her career, she transitioned from the Democratic Party to become an independent and eventually joined the Republican Party in 2024.
