Ulrica Messing

Ulrica Messing is a Swedish politician and civil servant who has served as the County Governor of Blekinge County since 2021. A member of the Social Democratic Party, she previously held several high-profile government positions, including Minister for Infrastructure from 2000 to 2006 and Minister for Culture. Between 1991 and 2007, she served as a Member of the Riksdag, representing Gävleborg County. During her tenure as Minister for Communications, she oversaw significant growth in Swedish arms exports, a period that drew both national and international attention.
