Umberto Bossi

Profile

Umberto Bossi was an influential Italian politician and the founder of the Lega Nord, a party he led as federal secretary from 1989 to 2012. Known as the 'Senatùr', he was a central figure in the Second Republic, advocating for federalism and regional autonomy in Northern Italy. Throughout his career, he served as a member of both the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, and held ministerial positions in the Berlusconi II and IV governments. He remained a prominent, albeit less active, political figure until his passing in 2026.
