Upendra Kushwaha is an Indian politician currently serving as a Member of the Rajya Sabha. Born in 1960, he has had a long and varied political career, having previously served as a Member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly and as the Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development. A former socialist activist, he has founded several political organizations, including the Rashtriya Samata Party and the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party, before establishing the Rashtriya Lok Morcha in 2023. Throughout his career, he has been a prominent advocate for the political representation of the Koeri and other backward castes in Bihar.
