Van H. Wanggaard is an American politician and former law enforcement officer serving as a member of the Wisconsin State Senate, representing the 21st district. First elected in 2010, he faced a recall election in 2012 before returning to the Senate in 2015. Throughout his tenure, he has held leadership roles, including serving as the Wisconsin Senate Majority Caucus Chair. Before his legislative career, he worked as an investigator for the Racine Police Department and served on the Racine County Board of Supervisors. In March 2026, he announced that he would not seek re-election.
