Varlam Liparteliani

Varlam Liparteliani is a Georgian politician and former professional judoka. Born in 1989, he achieved significant international success in judo, including a silver medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics and multiple European and World Championship titles. Following his retirement from competitive sports in 2024, he entered politics and was elected to the Parliament of Georgia representing the Georgian Dream party. He holds a degree from Sokhumi State University and was previously recognized for his athletic contributions with the Order of Honor.
