Vasantrao Balwantrao Chavan

Vasantrao Balwantrao Chavan was an Indian politician and a senior leader of the Indian National Congress from Maharashtra. Born in 1954, he began his political career as a Sarpanch in 1978 and served as a member of the Nanded Zilla Parishad before being elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Council and later the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. In 2024, he was elected to the 18th Lok Sabha representing the Nanded constituency. He also served as the chairman of the Nanded District Central Cooperative Bank. Chavan passed away on August 26, 2024, following a prolonged illness.
