Vaughan Gething

Vaughan Gething is a British politician who served as the First Minister of Wales from March to August 2024, becoming the first black leader of any European country. A member of the Welsh Labour Party, he represented the Cardiff South and Penarth constituency in the Senedd from 2011 until 2026. Previously, he held several cabinet positions, including Minister for Health and Social Services during the COVID-19 pandemic and Minister for the Economy. Before his political career, he worked as a solicitor specializing in employment law and served as the youngest President of the Wales TUC.
