Vedat Bilgin is a Turkish politician, sociologist, and academic who currently serves as a member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Born in 1954, he pursued an extensive academic career, holding positions at Hacettepe, Istanbul, Selçuk, and Gazi Universities, and conducting research at the University of York and the University of Michigan. Before his legislative career, he served as the general manager of Turkish State Railways and as an advisor to the Prime Minister. He previously held the cabinet position of Minister of Labor and Social Security from 2021 to 2023.
