Verona Mauga

Verona Sagato-Mauga is an American entrepreneur and politician serving as a member of the Utah House of Representatives for the 31st district since 2025. A member of the Democratic Party, she holds the distinction of being one of the first Samoans elected to the Utah State Legislature and the first Samoan woman to serve in any continental state legislature in the United States. Outside of her legislative duties, she is a co-owner of My Choice Utah, which provides housing for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and co-founded Le Malu, an organization dedicated to American Pacific Islander mentorship and cultural preservation.
