Vilija Blinkevičiūtė

Vilija Blinkevičiūtė is a Lithuanian politician and lawyer who has served as a Member of the European Parliament since 2009. A long-term member of the Social Democratic Party of Lithuania, she previously served as the Minister for Social Security and Labour from 2000 to 2008. In 2021, she became the chairwoman of her party and led them to victory in the 2024 parliamentary elections. Despite initial expectations that she would become Prime Minister, she declined the role to continue her work in the European Parliament.
