Laurynas Kasčiūnas is a Lithuanian politician and the chairman of the Homeland Union party. Born in 1982, he holds a doctorate in social sciences from Vilnius University and previously worked as a political analyst and lecturer. Kasčiūnas has served as a Member of the Seimas since 2016 and held the position of Minister of National Defence from March to December 2024. Known for his right-wing political stance, he has been a prominent advocate for hardline immigration policies, national security, and a strong defense posture, particularly in response to regional geopolitical tensions. He was elected chairman of his party in February 2025.
