Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri is an Indian politician currently serving as a Member of Parliament for the Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha constituency. A long-time member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, he previously served as a six-term Member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, including a tenure as the 16th Speaker of the Assembly from 2019 to 2023. Earlier in his career, he held the position of Minister for Primary and Secondary Education in the Government of Karnataka from 2008 to 2013. Known for his disciplined approach to governance, Kageri began his political journey as an influential student leader with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad.
