Visvaldas Matijošaitis

Visvaldas Matijošaitis is a Lithuanian politician and businessman who has served as the Mayor of Kaunas since 2015. He is the founder and chairman of the political movement Vieningas Kaunas (United Kaunas). Before entering politics, he established the Vičiūnai Group, a major food production company. Throughout his career, he has held various leadership roles, including positions with the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists and the Žalgiris Foundation. In 2019, he was considered a potential candidate for the Lithuanian presidential election. His tenure as mayor has been marked by both local development initiatives and public scrutiny regarding his business interests in Russia.
