A member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), he previously served as State Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport of Baden-Württemberg from 2016 to 2026. Before his full-time political career, he worked as a lawyer and served as a government assessor in the Baden-Württemberg State Ministry. He is a trained jurist and holds a degree from the University of Freiburg.
