W. Gregory Wims is an American politician and community leader currently serving as a member of the Maryland House of Delegates for District 39. Sworn into office in 2023, he is the first descendant of enslaved people elected to the Maryland House of Delegates. Throughout his career, Wims has held various roles in public service, including positions in the Reagan administration, the Small Business Administration, and as a director for the Montgomery County Regional Service. A long-time advocate for civil rights and community development, he has served on numerous non-profit boards and founded the Victims' Rights Foundation. In the legislature, he has focused on labor rights, including supporting minimum wage increases, and has introduced legislation to strengthen protections for minority voters.
