Wab Kinew is a Canadian politician serving as the 25th Premier of Manitoba since 2023 and leader of the Manitoba New Democratic Party. A member of the Ojibways of Onigaming First Nation, he is the first First Nations person to serve as a provincial premier in Canada. Before entering politics, Kinew was a prominent broadcaster, author, and university administrator, known for his work with CBC and his memoirs on Indigenous identity. His political career has focused on healthcare reform, public safety, and reconciliation, leading his party to a majority government in the 2023 provincial election.
