Werner Somers is a Belgian politician and lawyer who has served as a member of the Chamber of Representatives since 2024. Born in Ninove in 1974, he holds a degree in German from the University of Ghent and a master's degree in law from the Open University of the Netherlands, later earning a doctorate in Belgian law from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2023. Before his federal election, he worked as a translator and a lawyer at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg. Somers previously served as a municipal councilor in Ninove from 2000 to 2016, representing the Forza Ninove party, a local chapter of Vlaams Belang.
