William Sampson

William B. Sampson IV is an American politician serving as a member of the New Jersey General Assembly, representing the 31st Legislative District since 2022. Born and raised in Bayonne, New Jersey, he became the first African American state legislator from the city upon his election. Sampson has served as the chair of the Consumer Affairs Committee and vice-chair of the Labor Committee. Prior to his political career, he worked as a crane operator. He continues to represent his district following his re-election in 2023 and 2025.
