Ximena Órdenes is a Chilean sociologist and politician serving as a senator representing the Aysén Region. A career public servant and former member of the Party for Democracy, she previously held prominent regional executive posts including intendant of Aysén, governor of Aysén Province, and regional ministerial secretary of public works under the governments of Michelle Bachelet. First elected to the Senate in 2017 as an independent candidate, she became the first woman to hold the Senate seat for Aysén and was subsequently re-elected in 2025. Throughout her legislative career, she has focused extensively on environmental protection, health reforms, and transportation policy.
