Bakary Yaou Sangaré is a Nigerien diplomat and politician who has served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Nigeriens Abroad since August 2023. A career diplomat, he previously held various strategic positions, including First Counselor at the embassies of Niger in France, Saudi Arabia, and the United States, as well as serving as the Permanent Representative of Niger to the United Nations. He holds a degree in economics from the University of Abdou Moumouni in Niamey and specialized in international relations at the International Relations Institute of Cameroon. In his current ministerial role, he has focused on defending Niger's national sovereignty and strengthening South-South cooperation, particularly with China.
