Yasutomo Suzuki is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Governor of Shizuoka Prefecture, having been elected in May 2024. A graduate of Keio University and a first-generation alumnus of the Matsushita Institute of Government and Management, he previously worked in corporate management and consulting. Suzuki served as a member of the House of Representatives for two terms and held the office of Mayor of Hamamatsu for four consecutive terms from 2007 to 2023. During his tenure as mayor, he was noted for administrative reforms, the promotion of multicultural coexistence, and the implementation of a partnership oath system for same-sex couples. As governor, he focuses on regional development and administrative management within Shizuoka.
