Yoel Acosta Chirinos is a Venezuelan military officer and politician who played a significant role in the 1992 coup d'état against President Carlos Andrés Pérez. A founding member of the Revolutionary Bolivarian Movement 200 (MBR-200), he served as a lieutenant colonel in the Venezuelan Army. Throughout his career, he has navigated both the government and opposition factions, notably supporting Hugo Chávez and later Nicolás Maduro, though he has become a vocal critic of the latter's administration in recent years. In 2022, he was appointed as the Secretary of Communes for the state of Falcón by Governor Víctor Clark.
