Yoshihiro Iwasa is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Anan in Tokushima Prefecture. Born in 1971, he graduated from Hiroshima University before working as a director for the JA Higashi Tokushima agricultural cooperative. He began his political career as a member of the Tokushima Prefectural Assembly, serving two terms starting in 2015. In November 2023, he was elected Mayor of Anan after campaigning on a platform that included providing a 100,000 yen cash benefit to all households in the city, a policy that was subsequently implemented despite facing some local scrutiny regarding fiscal management.
