Hiroyuki Togashi is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives, where he holds the position of Chairman of the Committee on Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. Born in Akita City, he began his career as a secretary to a national lawmaker before serving five terms in the Akita Prefectural Assembly, including a tenure as its chairman. Since his election to the national Diet in 2012, he has held several government roles, including State Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications and State Minister for Reconstruction. Togashi is a member of the Liberal Democratic Party and is known for his support of constitutional reform, including the addition of emergency provisions, and his advocacy for the continued use of nuclear power in Japan.
