Yoshinori Tanaka is a Japanese politician serving as a member of the Hokkaido Prefectural Assembly. After graduating from Sapporo University, he worked at the Hokkai Times newspaper, eventually serving as the Chitose bureau chief. He began his political career as a member of the Eniwa City Council, where he served four terms and held leadership roles including chairman of the assembly steering committee. He was first elected to the Hokkaido Prefectural Assembly in a 2012 by-election and has since been re-elected multiple times. Tanaka is affiliated with the Liberal Democratic Party and has served as the chairman of the party's prefectural assembly caucus. His policy focus includes regional development, education, and support for the Self-Defense Forces.
