Young-jin Kwon is a South Korean politician currently serving as a member of the 22nd National Assembly representing Dalseo-gu Byeong. He previously served as the Mayor of Daegu for two terms from 2014 to 2022, where he was instrumental in the development of the Seodaegu Station project. Before his tenure as mayor, he served as a member of the 18th National Assembly and held the position of Vice Mayor of Seoul for Political Affairs under the Lee Myung-bak administration. An academic by background with a doctorate in political science from Korea University, Kwon has been a long-standing figure in conservative politics, having held various leadership roles within the People Power Party and its predecessors.
